The counter-intuitive secret of success in the workplace

My philosophy of fun in the world of business, and executive management professionals and the public is: If you do not like what you do, it's worth?

Because the higher you go, the easier it is to think you have to get more "serious" on the work you do. Well, you've been "serious" about it when you were the lowest on the totem pole, right? And while it was still fun.

Much of this has to do with accountability. As we add more, we often feel that the "fun" becomes the responsibility the opposite pole. And it starts even at an early age. When we teach our children about responsibility, it is often a very serious thing, and rarely in connection with pleasure. Seriously. When the last Once you've heard of child's play "responsibility" in the title?

Of course, this is the personal side of things. There is a business side, too, and my views on this subject. Instead of promoting goofiness for the sake of wasting time, the fact is that laughter and fun is so important to the success of an employee and a company like Metric.

And not just me saying that the fun that makes you better as an employee and as a manager, and do their business. Recruitment firm Robert Half International conducted a study entitled "Work and humor are mixed," and a finding that was reported as follows: "Eighty-seven percent of professionals polled feel it is important for managers to have a sense of humor." 97% "There's not even a question this result!

In 2003, now the leader has issued a coin on its website about the benefits of a happy life "to work, and drafted in language that any company would be hard to ignore: "Imagine a world where people love their work environment, and they are quiet, stress free and happy all day. People who are in a good mood are more likely to be productive. Their mental attitude produces more oxygen, endorphins, blood flow and brain, allowing them to think more clearly and creatively. "

Why did not the companies that type of environment for professionals to work? And how can you, as a professional, I do not want to be part of this environment?

In fact, more precisely, how can you not want to create professional such environment within your company?

Enjoy. It is good for you is good for your work is good for your business. Period.
