People in the Philippines speak English very well?
Do they speak British English or American English? Did you use English in their workplace? Or use your native language?
Like most settlements of English-language nations (like the U.S., Oz, NZ, UK), speaking their language at home, but are taught in English at school, and is the language of the workplace. Those close natives are those who went to college, if I mistake not, is about 25-30%. Those who can not speak beyond a few words are somewhere around 20%, the rest is in the middle. Because universities curricula and are copied, after the United States. those who go to school, learn everything in English (unlike, for example, Vietnam, where the language of instruction is indigent) and that Filipinos can speak English, are given preference in recruitment abroad and sent / invited others to speak English (Countries or places that British colonies like Hong Kong, USA (lol) Canada, Singapore, including the Middle East (which was, presumably, actually colonized but where the university is also in English). The Filipinos have no bias against the British government, and not talking with the loss of their national culture. Were quickly able to adopt and use English very well, unlike for example, the other U.S. Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, where very nationalistic "native" practically refuse to learn and to insist on the maintenance and shools work instead of Spanish. Curiously, because most Filipinos shuttle back and forth between home, United States, Hong Kong, Singapore, and I often illusion, the world speaks English, and English is universal. They think that places like Japan and Taiwan are rare due to the lack of English control. This is clearly a misunderstanding because most of the world (around 65%) still do not speak English, and many countries jealously protect their culture against "Anglo-Saxon imperialism." In addition, most did not know the little known fact that there are more English speakers Asia and Europe. This leads to awkward situations where a Filipino whose English skills are poor feel embarrassed to talk to a white person for fear of embarrassing themselves against a native speaker. But too often, the white person is a German whose English is still worse than that of the Filipinos, and both are now shy to express themselves each believing the other is the "real" English. Most Filipinos have never been to eastern and central Europe, Korea, China, Latin America and other large areas where English is popular. When however, go to these places and stay there for a while, they begin to feel alone, and seeing the English, are at your Meeting Like their brethren in the language. Due to competition in English, Filipinos seem to have more affinities with the West, the Anglo-Saxon countries many brothers named Asia such as Thailand and Cambodia, which seem to know very little.
