They are used by our major businesses – Confectionery Plant CJSC Svitoch Enzym East Lviv, Lviv liquor and alcohol distillery ZAO Brewery JSC Lviv Lviv Insulator Company, JSC Halychpharm Iskra JSC and others.

oblast Lviv is famous for its old academic traditions. The principles of classical education have been resolved by the School of Fraternity of the Assumption and the Jesuit College which resulted in the University of Lviv – the oldest university in Ukraine and one of the oldest in Eastern Europe (1661), and Lviv Polytechnic – the first technical school in Ukraine. Today Lviv is the largest center of education and science in western Ukraine. The Central West Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences is here, coordinates research scientific and scientific and educational institutions Lviv, Zakarpattya, Chernivtsi, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Rivne and Volyn provinces.

The unification process education and the adaptation of education systems in Europe with Ukraine are developing in Ukraine and Lviv province. Compulsory secondary education (11 years) is provided by public schools and is free. 99.8% of students complete their education at the Lviv province (the highest among the other provinces of Ukraine, second only to the city of Kiev). Lviv Oblast is also a leader in the number of secondary schools in other regions of Ukraine.

Higher education (5-6 years) is provided by the state educational institutions (with some cool and free private), as well as offering a wide scope for the choice of disciplines to current levels of state education. Today the province has 61 institutions of higher learning in the I-VI accreditation level (universities, institutes, colleges, technical schools, specialized schools and universities), and 56 vocational technical schools. The number of students increases each year and reached almost 150,000 people.

There are many educational institutions and programs operating in the province and led to the upgrading and improvement of skills management. foreign language courses, computer courses and specialty and training in business and management disciplines are also very popular.

Lviv oblast has a potential in the field of science and research, scientific research institutions in more than 90, including 17 institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. For quantitative indicators of the speed of the province of scientific and technical Lviv fifth among the other provinces. 6% of all schools are located here. About 11,000 people work in scientific research and research activities, including 600 doctors of science and about 3300 candidates of science (6.9% of all doctors of science and candidates of science in Ukraine), more than 50 academicians and 18 corresponding members National Academy of Sciences.
