How many times have you asked whether a certain aesthetic is really natural, or is just pretending to be friendly people and the planet? You are not alone. Many people are confused about the term "natural cosmetics." This is not surprising, since the Food and Drug Administration has no strict definition the term "natural." This allows many cosmetics companies to advertise their products as natural, even if her cosmetics is only "dust" with some natural ingredients. And, more importantly, many so-called "natural" cosmetics actually contain ingredients that are harmful for the body and the earth.

So how do you know which products are truly natural and therefore good for your skin and the environment? The best way is to read the ingredient list, and become familiar with ingredients that are actually good for your skin, which are harmful. It is also very important to be aware of the order in the ingredients of cosmetics are listed on the label.

According to the FDA, the ingredients must be listed in order of highest to lowest amount used – unless that the amount of the ingredient is 1% or less, in this case, the ingredients may be listed in any order.

Let's use jojoba oil as an example. It is a good moisturizer in great quantity. How much does Jojoba oil is used in a particular product? Not enough to have the "right" ingredients, they must used in quantities that actually work. If you see jojoba oil, near the bottom of the list of ingredients, it is likely that only a small amount was used, and labeling only.

If you buy online, visit the company web lists of ingredients for their products. Companies that sell products Natural is really comfortable publishing their lists of ingredients. Do not be surprised if there is a flower How wonderful description of the product is followed by the word "Contains", and that some of the ingredients (natural, of course!) Contained.

One reason why an entire product ingredients skin must be listed on web pages and tags, is that so many people today have allergies. It is not enough for cosmetic products "hypoallergenic." Many people are allergic to are completely natural ingredients such as honey or beeswax. Being open about the ingredients in their products is another way a company can show your customers really cares.

To choose the right product, you should know what to be careful to read the label. Some companies do not comply with not labeling of the FDA, but rather, add descriptions suggest that buying their products.

A few examples of misleading terms on labels:

"Sodium laureth sulfate (coconut derived)." Sodium laureth sulphate is a strong detergents should not be used in natural products, although derived from coconut. Some manufacturers want you to believe that because the term "derivatives Coconut", the ingredient is natural. It is not.

Another example: Many products contain the following description: "organic herbal infusion, followed by a long list of medicinal plants. The assumption is that most herbs, the benefits more health. Do not count on it. If you add a mint tea bag in a cup of hot water, you can make tea. If you add the same mint tea bag one gallon of water tibia, or 5 gallons of hot water, technically, still brewing, but will not benefit. The problem is the word "infusion" mean nothing if you do not know the degree of concentration of the infusion. As indicated above, not using the right ingredients, should be used in adequate amounts if they are our advantages.

More about: In studies, parabens have been linked to breast cancer, many women avoid cosmetics containing it. Sometimes the labels to try to reassure him by saying: "This product contains less than 0.25% parabens." Although this number seems low, you should always be in doubt. The real problem is not with the amount of parabens used, but with the fact that these chemicals can penetrate the skin and accumulate in body tissues. This can be especially risky if you use several of these products on the skin, each with a small amount of parabens!

It is beyond the scope of a short article and give examples from mislabeling, but I hope it inspires you to be more vigilant when buying cosmetics.

Creation of the skin and products hair that are truly natural and good for your skin is expensive. This is why many cosmetics companies are looking for ways to cut corners, giving the impression that their products are natural and good for you. The only way to ensure you are buying products that are truly natural is to buy a company you can trust – who are committed to the health and beauty lists, and – like stones and herbs – natural ingredients with pride in all its labels and their site.
