How to win any job in any freelance job site
As an employer, with over 30 employees to Interspire, especially when I need something I can do is call a staff member in the office and take care of it for me. However, sometimes I need the skills of an experienced freelance casual employment, as writing a user guide or build a product overview video in Flash. In these situations, I turn to independent professionals Elance, oDesk or Guru.com.
After posting a job advertisement, the answers begin to arrive within hours. 95% of the time, candidates have no idea how to answer the call employment, or send more:
* The response always copy and paste to use for each job offer * A wave in response that are not sold to me
Having been on both sides of the fence – as an employer now, and as a freelance five years ago – I've learned what makes a good response to a job advertisement in a separate Web site, as mentioned, and I thought to give some tips in this article to help you win any work on behalf itself sought.
1. What is there for me, the employer?
If you reply to my ad for a self-needs sell your skills and benefits of hiring you. The best way to do this is a short list of bullets, such as:
* Expert technical writer Writing Skills for Microsoft and eBay * Completely devoted to his project with an eye for detail * 100% money back guarantee if not satisfied for any reason * Quick lap time
In the above example suppose I am a freelancer trying to gain self-employment in technical writing. First place "drop names" of Microsoft and eBay. As an employer would make me think: "Wow, this guy has written for Microsoft and eBay. It must be good, I will continue reading. "
Then you say that you are a harder worker and is so confident in your work you give me my money if I can be happy. Eliminates any risk to me from the beginning.
Finally, I have ensured a quick turnaround time, which I like because I have 100 others worry and do not have time to micro manage you.
2. Your subject line to get attention?
When a job for independence, 99 times out of 100 in the subject line will be something like "Re: Technical writer position. If I 85 e-mails in my inbox so that the usual get my attention.
Be creative in the subject line of your email and everything you need to attract the attention of the person who sent the job. These are good examples that have worked for me:
* "You will not find technical writer better than me. Guaranteed. "*" Clear messages on Elance – read my CV to know why "*" I worked with two of his closest competitors "*" I am an expert in the use of your product and you can write your user guide with your eyes closed. "
Compare Subject lines above this:
Re: Technical Editor Position
… And you can see the huge difference Case can do.
3. If you are a real person?
You'd be surprised how many candidates do not include information of contact in response to an independent position. Just because you work at home does not mean that their methods of communication must be by e-mail and instant messaging.
Employers want to know you're a "real" person, so to make things happen and have a better chance to win the job, try to end your e-mail with any thing like this:
"I'm based in Los Angeles, California, and am able to start working on your work immediately. Please do not hesitate to call me at 555 0199 to discuss the project at any time. I'm glad to hear you. "
Even if the person who posted the job is comfortable dealing with you by email, just show that you have an open line of communication can make a world of difference when it comes to their own. You'd be surprised how many are self-employed Americans in North sea.
