How to access unformatted partition to retreive files?
My C: drive partition is working fine. I have another drive D: which is unformatted and cannot be opened. I can format it but there is some information on it I would like to retreive. If I format it, which I can do through disk management in windows, all information will be deleted. Is there any way I can make the drive readable in order to get the information? Partition Magic 8 will not open because of this problem. I have another utility: Recover Files, which also doesn’t recognize the partition. Maybe there’s some other utility out there which will do the job. I’ve searched download.com but didn’t find any. Thanks….

You can try to recover your files with Easy File Undelete:
http://www.munsoft.com/EasyFileUndelete/
It has special UNFORMAT mode and can recover files even if their location and size is not stored in the file system structures.
