Job Hunting Over 50

How do employers really see those who are over 50, as potential employees ….?
I know age discrimination is prohibited, but there are simple ways they can refuse to hire someone. Does anyone here over 50 years is looking difficult a job because of his age? Such Once you are an employer and you can develop in the recruitment process and greater acceptance or rejection as employees. How did the comparison group over 50 other age groups in your company to be effective? Since it is anonymous, I hope all current or former employer from the outset and would honestly if the age of an elderly person not really make a difference in your decision. Thank you. I'm in this ad for the elderly to get their point of view, and a moment later, I'll put this in the division issues to gain perspective for those who wish to pursue this matter.
My husband is old enough for Social Security once more but is more 60. He postponed due to budget cuts in 2006 and has never been able to find work. I 65 (I never give my real age), but less than 70 years. I was fired for budget cuts in 2007. I need to work for financial reasons. Both my husband and I have never been able to find work since we parted. We first tried to find jobs work in our usual line of work and when we went to job interviews, we always have the oldest person in the whole place. My husband and I have told doctors and we are well "not qualified" or "best qualified" for employment. In desperation, applied to Wal-Mart, Target, McDonald's, supermarkets, pharmacies, nursing jobs, janitorial jobs, telemarketing jobs, whatever and being rejected because we are "more qualified." I think most the "unqualified" and "most qualified" answers really translate as "too old." Employers do not want more 60 years because they know we have to pay well and can not "mold" what kind of employee that we want to be a pawn. They also believe that what is with us they are only going to retire in a few years or may get sick and cost the company much money. So are the "other" excuses for not hiring more 60. And if you work in a field of employment for over 25 years and been manager of a department head at the top of your salary and see that when you interview, which also off. But what can you do? You can not lie. What do you think you've done for 25 years? Unemployment is difficult to over 60 years.
