Hostility In The Workplace

Why women are so hostile toward others?
Why women are so hostile toward others? So we had this cute new girl joined our company last month. I and the other guys have noticed a lot of hostility towards him by the other girls in the office. When we eat, eat with us, three or four guys, instead of the other girls. It has also been drastically reduced by talking to other women in meetings. Go out of their way to do feel welcome. I do not understand why women are so threatened by a smart girl at work all places? I mean it's not as if we hit each other than girls must defend their territory or something. I do not understand
For fear of competition.
