General Manager Job Description

Should I be compensated for duties outside of my job description?
I am employed as a director of marketing for a couple of restaurants and bars. For the past year I have also been acting as the General Manager for one of the locations that happens to be a nightclub. On occaison I am required to cook for banquets, bartend and sometimes even serve tables. Someone told me that I should be compensated for those duties in addition to my salary. Can anyone help?
As manager, you can either hire someone to do those jobs or do them on your own; the duty of a manager is to cover all jobs, and hire what he/she cannot. If you’re on salary, though, chances are your boss will expect you to keep doing it unless you let him/her know you need assistance.
