Tips on how a new city before finding a job?
My husband and I are going to Portland in May of this year. We both professionals but have not found work yet and can not, even before the trip. Has anyone done this? If If you have information on how to find a place to rent before finding a job? Any other relevant information would be greatly appreciated.
I have no specific information about Portland unfortunately, but also I made the trip all the way into a new city before finding a job. If not, we recommend you contact the local Chamber of Commerce. Let them know about their origins, and may recur with companies or organizations that could fit. You can then contact them and ask if there are vacancies available. It is also a great help if you know someone in Portland who can give some recommendations (or maybe a place to sleep for a few weeks while renting an apartment. Otherwise, it might be cheap motel your best choice if you can find one for less than $ 50 per night. You can also begin to communicate with a placement if one Portland. I found that my chances were limited before moving, because they have no means of long distance network.
