Is it illegal for your employer (private company) to put GPS locators on their computers?

such as cell phones or phones computers – with or without your knowledge?

Sure they can, if you bought the team and gave it to the official duties of the company. This is a company may locate cell phones and laptops that have been lost or stolen, and that's how I justified legally – of their right to protect their assets and trade secrets and bonus practices on the right to privacy of an employee (which is a legal fiction, anyway).
