Employee Misclassification

Security clearance and tax evasion?
In a nutshell: I worked as office assistant with an independent agent for Aflac about 6 months in 2009. Being young and foolish, I agreed to be paid as a contractor in 1099 instead of W2 employee. I've been through the steps and was determined to be out of place and I am absolutely in no way part of the recruitment stage itself. So my question is, can my security clearance threatened by tax error / Misclassification? I earned less than $ 10,000 with her in my work, so that taxes should pay for 1099 that did not hit me so hard, but I think my responsibility moral right that wrong and cover my back by filing the SS-8 and so on to get this sorted. I have a secret rating is good until 2019, but certainly not want to generate a new survey, if they end up being audited by the IRS and asked in my employment status last year.
You are not a tax evader, has come at a worse, a tax debtor. If the IRS files Notice of Federal Tax Lien against you, that could affect your credit rating and could affect safety. You should question the fiscal responsibility long before it reaches that point. If you feel you should be treated as an employee, fill out the form IRS SS-8 http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fss8.pdf and let the IRS rule in your state. Even taxes are paid employees of the average Social Security and Medicare, but is less than you paid as an independent contractor. If you owe less than $ 25,000 and can pay at least 2% of what you need per month, the IRS will pay arrangements and not file a lien, provided that you keep your payments ..
