Is there a guide for recruiting employees for the first time?
I own a small business in Chicago and I need hire someone, but I do not know the procedures for proper documentation (, W2, etc.) So, is there a guide that describes the process of hiring a person? Thanks in advance!
1 – You need an EIN if you have not already 2 – You must register with the State of Illinois for taxes and tax umeployment income. 3 – You need a payroll tax reporting quarterly and IL IRS. Refused SS, Medicare, federal and state withholding, and submit to the Appropriate government office at least once a quarter or more frequently. Your company will be to match the SS and Medicare that you have chosen. 4 – You must have the employee completes Form W-4. 5 – also must complete Form I-9. This can be avoided by hiring an independent contractor, but there are certain rules for this process. You do not know where to go for more, SCORE chapter can be.
