What are the options for Dental Hygienist have for employment?

I am a nurse. (20 years) I can not continue in this field. Financially I can not make ends meet and I'm tired of caring for sick people. All times are bad, because if a nurse does not work, I'm stuck there. I'm thinking about dental hygiene as a new career. I've studied a lot about it. What are the options I have a job? What other skills you can learn to improve my income in this area?

It seems that the race would have a dental hygiene. But if you've ever tried to make an appointment for a cleaning, usually are months late. I believe this could be a lucrative, if desired.
