cna job
A question for CNA what type of job you had before you became a CNA?

Was it retail, because retal stores is mostly what did? Do you think CNA nurse is better than retail in terms of more job security and hours? For me I don’t like how retail cut down my hours, I have 20 and sometimes less than 20 hours a week at a retail clothes store I figure CNA would give more hours and also an opportunity to become a nurse.
I forgot to add do you think CNA is better than retail because of more hours and stability?

I am a wet chemical lab technician now, but from 1993 – 2001, I worked as a CNA. Before that I worked as a cashier at a convenience store, a telemarketer, and as a cook in several different restaurants. Usually, when I did CNA, I worked as many hours as I wanted (usually 64 hours/week). Also, if you are willing to work at a nursing home, it seems like all of them are always hiring. As far as becoming a nurse, you have to go to school. Being a CNA probably won’t help you become a nurse unless you can strike a deal with an employer to get them to pay for it.
